    Makoto: And evidently, fond of the edgy red and black look. Honestly we could go on and on about these two, but will just let the analysis speak for itself.

    Raiden: Ryuko Matoi, Wearer of Senketsu...

    Makoto: And Shadow the Hedgehog, the Ultimate Life-Form!

    Raiden: I'm Raiden and she's Makoto, and it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a DEATH BATTLE!

    First Appearance: Kill La Kill Episode 1.
    Species: Life-Fiber infused Human.

    Raiden: As a child, Ryuko was initially raised by her father Isshin Matoi, who eventually sent her off to a boarding school. As her life there was a mostly isolated one, she got into a lot of fights and was eventually a full-on delinquent.

    Makoto: Oh, well, isn't that just classic.

    Raiden: ... Are you okay, Makoto?

    Makoto: Yeah... yeah, I'm fine.

    Raiden: ... Well anyway, she was eventually called back to her home by her father due to a matter of great importance. We don't know what she was expecting, but it sure as hell wasn't her father on the brink of death with a giant half scissor sticking out of him.

    Makoto: Touching family reunion if I ever saw one.

    Raiden: ... Have you ever seen one?

    Makoto: Never come to my family reunions. You'll regret it. Anyway, with his last breath, Isshin told his daughter that if she found a weapon just like that one, she would find his killer... Well, actually his last words were "Wait, I haven't told you everything," but the little lady just walked out on him and watched his house burn down. Ain't that a bitch?

    Raiden: Vowing to avenge her father she set off to Honnoji Academy, where she met Satsuki Kiryuin, whom she accused of being responsible for the killing. Ryuko found motivation when she found out that she would have to defeat Satsuki to get the answers she was looking for. With her sailor uniform companion Senketsu, whom she had encountered earlier, the school soon knew the name and inpressive power of Ryuko Matoi.

    Makoto: Well, you sound just as impressed as them.

    Raiden: ... What is with you today?

    Makoto: I'm not at my best, alright. Let's just move on to the physical stuff.



    Physicality/General Abilities:


    -Strength:
    -One-shot a group of Covers without Senketsu.
    -Sends people flying and creates large depressions in stone with the shockwaves of her punches.
    -The force of her Scissor Blade swings can form massive gashes in concrete without even touching it.
    -Sliced apart two buildings from afar without Senketsu.

    Raiden: There is indeed more to Ryuko than meets the eye. See, she is actually a human infused with an alien material called Life-Fibers.

    Makoto: Probably a cover-up for Death-Fibers since they were trying to wipe out all of humanity. And latched on to a space object as a last resort... I'm getting back to this.

    Raiden: I could tell. Anyway, the Life-Fibers in Ryuko give her insane superhuman abilities. The strength she wields is so tremendous she can slash apart building further than her weapon can reach and send people flying with the shockwaves of her punches. She's fast enough to run a row of after-images around her opponents and even create tornadoes. She can even shrug off being bombarded with a massive barrage of missiles, and she survived atmospheric reentry... while naked. Though she did have some help with the landing... from more naked people.

    Makoto: Ah yes, I think I'll go skinny dipping in space. Her years of being a thug have made her quite the skilled street fighter, and she's actually pretty decent with a sword... though I'm pretty sure she's just flailing with that. She's an incredibly reckless fighter which... actually works to her advantage more often than not. Because who needs training when you're pissed off!?

    Raiden: And yes, that is a direct quote. *ahem* She also has a healing factor, which allows her to survive some ridiculous things. After her heart was ripped out, the heart reattached itself and the wound was sealed up in seconds. She's even been split in half and put herself back together.

    Makoto: The only way to counter the healing factor is if she's cut equally from two sides, like a scissor. Speaking of...



    Weaponry:

    Scissor Blade:
    -Made of Hardened Life-Fibers.
    -Designed specifically to be an anti Life-Fiber weapon.
    -Easily cuts through stone, steel and other Goku Uniforms.
    -Can fire sword beams.
    -Can fire an omnidirectional energy blast.
    -Decapitation Mode: Doubles the length of the Scissor Blade.
    -Sen'i-Soshitsu: Delivers a lunging thrust in Decapitation Mode and instantly destroys a Life-Fiber based uniform.
    -Can shrink to the size of a normal scissor.


    Second Scissor Blade:
    -All properties of the first.
    -Capable of transforming into a dual-scythe.


    Rending Scissors:
    -Combines both scissor blades.
    -Completely nullifies healing properties of Life-Fibers.
    -Doubles range with Double Decapitation Mode.
    -Capable of growing into a massive size.



    Makoto: And now her primary weapon is a scissor. This anime is just asking for an innuendo.

    Raiden: Hey, don't mess with the Scissor Blade. Forged from hardened Life-Fibers as a means to destroy the alien material, this is an unbelievably tough weapon, capable of easily cutting through stone and metal with ease.

    Makoto: Hey, no disrespect. If I had a weapon that could slash lasers that could cut down buildings, I'd take it no matter what it looked like! It can also enter Decapitation Mode to double its length(heh) and pull off Sen'i Soshitsu, a finishing move that can easily destroy Life-Fiber infused clothes called Goku Uniforms... Hah!

    Raiden: She also possesses a second Scissor Blade which she got off of her father's killer. Apparently this one is capable of turning into a dual bladed scythe, though Ryuko has never done this herself, and the person who did never actually used it.

    Makoto: Probably an idea the writers had, used and forgot about. Writers tend to do that.

    Raiden: They can also combine into a pair of 'Rending-Scissors,' which can cut through nearly anything and enter Double Decapitation Mode. Guess what that does. The blades can even expand to become the size of a city, or shrink to the size of a normal pair of scissors.

    Makoto: But shockingly enough, this pair of scissors alone won't always cut it... HAH! Anyway, a lot of her power lies within what she wears. Ladies and gents, the most awesome eldritch abomination of a sailor uniform ever:


    Kamui Senketsu:
    -An outfit made entirely of Life-Fibers.
    -Designed specifically to be worn by Ryuko.
    -Greatly enhances her physical ability.
    -Sentience
        -Can attack without being worn.
        -Can advise and make plans for Ryuko during battle.
    -Minor Shapeshifting
        -Can expand parts of the suit to massive sizes.
        -Can manipulate parts of the suit that were cut off.
        -Can form blades around the arm.
        -Can create jets from its back.
        -While off of Ryuko, transformed into a drill.
    -Thread Manipulation
        -Can detach threads to bind opponents.
        -Once tied to the Scissor Blade as a makeshift grappling hook.
        -Once used to create a makeshift tennis racket with the Scissor Blade... I'm not fucking with you.
        -Can extend the spikes on her skirt to anchor her to the ground.
        -Threads are incredibly strong.

    -Senketsu Senjin
        -Covers Senketsu in blades.
        -Skirt can be used as a buzzsaw type weapon.
        -Can form blades from Ryuko's blood.

    -Senketsu Shippu: Basically turns Senketsu into a rocket.

    -Senjin Shippu: Combines the abilities of Senketsu Senjin and Senketsu Shippu.

    -Berserker State
        -Triggered by extreme anger.
        -Grants an extreme strength buff.
        -Can be fatal due to blood loss.
    -Infinite Absorption
        -Senketsu can absorb any form of Life-Fibers to boost Ryuko's power.
        -Once absorbed Ragyo's Absolute Submission/Domination, gaining the ability to control all Life-Fibers.



    Raiden: This... deserves some explanation. In the world of Kill La Kill, Life-Fibers, as mentioned before, are used to make Goku Uniforms. The amount of Life-Fibers used to make these clothes are measured by stars. One Star is ten percent, Two Star is twenty percent, et cetera. Three Star's are only worn by the Elite Four.

    Makoto: HAH!

    Raiden: A Kamui is rather unique in that it is one of the only forms of clothing that is composed entirely of Life-Fibers. Ryuko's Kamui Senketsu - meaning Fresh Blood - is powered by Ryuko's, well, blood to basically bring it to life. Through this, it was designed specifically to be worn by Ryuko.

    Makoto: Wait, her father created it, right?

    Raiden: ... Yes?

    Makoto: So her father created this skimpy little thing with the intention of her daughter wearing it!? In that case, maybe it's a good thing that they didn't spend so much time together!

    Raiden: Makoto, you are literally in no position to talk.

    Makoto: I'm not being forced to wear this by my hairy old relative!

    Raiden: Well if it satisfies, there is a legitimate reason for it. Apparently covering too much of one's body in Life-Fibers can cause the wearer to fall under the influence of them and have their body consumed. More on that in a bit, but the point is that they try to prevent this by covering as little of their bodies as possible.

    Makoto: That... is a godly excuse for fanservice if I've ever heard one.

    Raiden: I know, right? But anyway, while Ryuko is 'synchronized' with Senketsu, he can keep track of Ryuko’s vitals, inform her when she is about to lose too much blood and pass out, and even sense her emotions... which is kinda creepy. Each individual piece of Senketsu is necessary in order to synchronize properly, most notably the glove, otherwise the wearer will feel extreme pain that could kill them. That said, Ryuko has presented the willpower to fight for a bit with pieces missing. According to Ragyo Life Fibers are also most active when its user's life is in danger.

    Makoto: With Senketsu on Ryuko's power increases to insane levels. It's with this thing that Ryuko could survive stadium and tower busting attacks effortlessly, and move fast enough to create tornadoes. Her glove could deflect enrgy slashes from the Scissor Blade, and she could catch and throw back a stadium busting missile. Her power only grows with the more Life-Fibers she absorbs. It can also act on its own and attack even when not worn. It talks to Ryuko, usually thinking of the strategies that she can't, and is voiced by... Jin Kisaragi... huh.

    Raiden: It can also manipulate its 'body' in various creative ways. It can detach thread from itself to bind opponents, and create things like grappling hooks and even tennis rackets. The spikes on her skirt can be used to anchor her to the ground, and Ryuko can cut off entire parts of the suit to manipulate and use as a weapon. Senketsu can control any part of the suit via minor shapeshifting.  This ability makes Senketsu capable of forming retractable Wolverine claws, an arm blade, and turn his eye into a crushing weapon that can cover an arena's worth of terrain.

    Makoto: Because make a crazy attack even crazier and it will hit!

    Raiden: Another direct quote.

    Makoto: But the shapeshifting can take on a whole new level. I'm talking transformations! The suits adaptability allows it to take on different configurations on the fly. Senketsu Senjin basically turns her into a human buzzsaw, Senketsu Shippu allows her to fly, and she can combine the properties of both to create... Senjin Shippu. Like this she could keep up with Ragyo, who flies at what are pretty blatantly massively hypersonic speeds. She can even do a nifty little spindash in this state.

    Raiden: And if she gets extremely angry, she can enter a Berserk State, where she transforms into a hideous monster powerful enough to destroy an entire stadium and the area around it with a single punch! But even all of this is nothing compared to her ultimate form. After absorbing a massive amount of Life-Fibers, she transformed into... well, this.




    Senketsu Kisaragi:
    -Achieved when Senketsu absorbs a massive amount of Life Fibers.
    -Boosts Ryuko's abilities to far past their original potential.
    -Allows flight.



    Makoto: And now we have super forms. Freaking golden super forms.

    Raiden: Aside from Senketsu receiving a significant improvement in depth perception, Senketsu Kisaragi--

    Makoto: A name which is hilarious since he's voiced by Jin.

    Raiden: --grants Ryuko abilities far beyond what she was originally capable of. She gains the ability to fly, and in doing so rocketed out of Earth's atmosphere in a matter of seconds. This is also the form where she used the Rending Scissors mentioned above.

    Makoto: Her healing factor also became ridiculous. During her fight with Ragyo, she survived being out in the vacuum of space, while continuously being stabbed thousands of times per second! She just kept shrugging it off before absorbing Ragyo's Absolute Submission!

    Raiden: Which gave her complete control of all Life-Fibers.

    Makoto: Oh, so now she's the Goddess of alien clothing. What can't she do!?

    Raiden: Not much... but...




    Weaknesses:
    -Hot-headed and reckless.
    -Not a strategist.
    -Berserker State hurts more than helps.
    -Getting embarrassed of wearing Senketsu will constantly drain blood.
        -Pretty much rid of this.
    -Cutting Banshi threads will take Senketsu apart.



    Raiden: Ryuko is hardly the brightest fighter. She's incredibly reckless, and always rushes into a battle swinging. To be fair, though, that sometimes works to her advantage.

    Makoto: Sure she's not a strategist, but hey, that's what the sailor suit is for. And while she will get severely weakened if she's embarrassed... She took a page from my book and learned to stop having shame. Take pride in how hot you are!

    Raiden: ... Please don't make me so aware, Makoto.

    Makoto: You've got a problem?

    Raiden: *blushes* *ahem* Anyway, another thing worthy of note is that if she enters the Berserker State, while she is incredibly powerful, she not only losses all form of rational thought, but could die from constant blood loss. However, she has only ever entered this state when angered by something very personal. But her most important weakness is the Banshi threads. These are special threads that keep her together. While pulling just one won't do anything, should all of them be removed, Senketsu will fall apart. Also there is a limit to how much Life-Fibers Senketsu can absorb, as evident by how he was destroyed after absorbing Absolute Submission.

    Makoto: So there's a countermeasure for any of her weaknesses?

    Raiden: I... yes.

    Makoto: I ask again: What can't she do!?!?

    "From now on I'm gonna use the rage in me to fight for the things that really matter! Like gettin' my friend back and protecting all my friends! ALL THE PEOPLE IN MY LIFE THAT MATTER TO ME!!!

    SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG:
    First Appearance: Sonic Adventure 2.
    Species: Hedgehog/Black Arms Hybrid.

    Fur: Black with red streaks(sounds familiar...).
    Eyes: Red.
    Occupation: G.U.N. Soldier.
    Alias: Ultimate Life-Form, Project Shadow, The Black Blur, Sir Lancelot(alternatively).
Theme:

    Feats:
    -Matched and sometimes bested Sonic in combat.
    -Broken into Dr. Eggman's various stronghold's on multiple occasions.
    -Annihilated a Metarex fleet in one attack.
    -Fought through legions of military soldiers.
    -Ultimately defeated Black Doom and the Black Arms.
    -Defeated the Biolizard, a prototype Ultimate Lifeform much larger than himself, on his own.
    -Defeated the Finalhazard, an enhanced version of the Biolizard (fused with the Eclipse Cannon and ARK), alongside Sonic.
    -Defeated Mephiles, an incarnation of the Sun God Soleanna.
    -Defeated Solaris, a super-dimensional being(Albeit could only sedate him with Sonic and Silver's help).
    -Only character that had good representation in Sonic '06.



    Raiden: Over 50 years ago, a scientist by the name of Gerald Robotnik lived on the Space Colony ARK with his terminally ill granddaughter Maria Robotnik.

    Makoto: Cause, y'know, that's what old people and their sick grandchildren do.

    Raiden: Desperate to cure his granddaughter, Gerald struck a deal with an alien named Black Doom. Using his blood they sought to create a creature that could have genes to cure the ill, specifically Maria. The Ultimate Life-Form, if you will. This is what created Shadow.

    Makoto: So he was created to be the ultimate by being infused with alien DNA. Sounds familiar...

    Raiden: Oh, trust me, we're just getting started, Makoto.

    Makoto: Anyway for some reason they decided that the Ultimate Life-Form needed to be a black hedgehog with freaking rocket shoes. I mean, what else, right!? Anyway, before Shadow be unleashed upon the world,the military caught onto Gerald's immortality gamble, and tragedy struck! And by struck I mean a bullet and by tragedy I mean Maria. But before they could catch Shadow, he was sent rocketing down to Earth and went asleep for 50 years.

    Raiden: Until the fateful day of when he was freed by the Grandson of his creator, Doctor Ivo 'Eggman' Robotnik. With his help Shadow began to exact revenge upon the human race... until he realized how much of a dick that would make him in Maria's eyes and began to save the world. And he did... but at the cost of his own life.

    Makoto: At least he went down in a blaze of glory... No wait, Shadow got to popular and he actually survived. Sounds familiar...

    Raiden: Luckily for Shadow, this retcon created possibly the greatest testament to his physical ability...




    Physicality/General Abilities:
    Strength:
    -Can flip cars, buses, trucks and massive slabs of concrete with ease.
    -Can easily smash through metal and rows of robots.
    -Can shake massive battleships from the outside.
    -Pushed back one of Final Mova's heads single handed.
    Speed:
    -Can keep up with Sonic in many instances.
        -Sonic is still the faster of the two.
    -Had evaded laser barrages.
    -Moved two allies away from a massive explosion in less than a second.
    -Can move at supersonic speeds even without his shoes.
    -Can release energy discharges just by running fast enough.
    -Has the reflexes and agility to back it up.
    Endurance/Durability:
    -Can take much more punishment than most other Mobians.
    -Shrugs off gunfire.
    -Can tank large explosions.
    -Has been struck by powerful laser cannons.
    -Survived crash-landing into Earth at 6,000,000 feet per second.
    Martial artist.
    -Style focuses on power and aggressiveness above all else.
    -Uses a combination of swift punches, roundhouse kicks, karate chops, etc.
    -Combines fighting style with Chaos powers.
    Expert marksman.
    Decent swordsman.
    Does not physically age.
    Immune to all kinds of disease.
    A smart fighter.



    Raiden: Shadow's durability is outright astounding. The fall he took as he entered the atmosphere should have incinerated him before he touched the ground, but he survived with a quick physical recovery and only some amnesia to show for it. Honestly it's no surprise that he can easily shrug off gun and laser fire.And while not as strong as, say, Knuckles, he's able to lift, flip and throw large buses, cars and massive slabs of concrete. 

    Makoto: Pretty strong for a guy with no muscle, but just cause he's strong doesn't mean he's slow. Being a hedgehog of Sonic's universe, he has a natural affinity to speed. He can run at supersonic speeds and even keep up with Sonic... albeit, when he can there's no way Sonic's going at his maximum. Speaking of those shoes they allow him to go at high hypersonic speeds and even dodge lightspeed attacks like lasers. He can go so fast that he releases energy discharges.

    Raiden: These shoes also allow him to fly and hold an offensive property, capable of extending the power, range and duration of his kick based attacks. He can even destroy a large row of robots just by running through them.

    Makoto:  But he doesn't just run through his every opponent. Shadow's style of fighting is based around overpowering an opponent with fast, aggressive moves, focusing a lot of power into his blows. A rushdown fighter. My kinda hedgehog! And yes, as a fighting game character I do feel the need to comment.

    Raiden: And while not exactly a tactical genius, Shadow is a smart fighter. He is perfectly capable of analyzing and adapting to a given situation, and utilizing a strategy that works well enough to easily take down his opponent.

    Makoto: And y'know that whole 'created to be a cure' thing? Well, apparently that wasn't entirely pointless to him. Not only does he not physically age - meaning that he'll always look as cool as he does - but he is immune to any form of disease! Now if only he could remember that he was created to pass that on to other people. The world might be slightly less fucked up.

    Raiden: But when his own two fists aren't enough, Shadow is still a skilled marksman and swordsman, and he utilizes these skills with his vast arsenal.

    Makoto: Ugh... do we have to talk about this game?

    Raiden: Unfortunately just because something sucks doesn't mean that we're allowed to disregard it.

    Makoto: ... Fine... SHADOW HAS GUNS, EVERYBODY!

    Raiden: Yes, well... *ahem* Shadow's marksmanship will make it so that he pretty much always hits his target, assuming that they aren't homing weapons. The firearms he has vary from standard human weapons to Black Arms weapons that most likely fire concentrated plasma. The types of weapons he uses are categorized into standard firearms, cannons, homing weapons, ricocheting lasers, and-

    Makoto: Vacuums. Freaking vacuums! He sucks up objects and spits them back out at you! And as an added bonus, let's make one of them a freakin' chicken!!!

    Raiden: ... Okay, Makoto, you're kinda scaring me.

    Makoto: Sorry, I just... I really don't like this game, Raiden. Why is it a thing?

    Raiden: I hate it too, hun. I hate it too. Just let me take care of this part.

    Makoto: ... *nods* Okay...

    Raiden: Alright. Anyway, Shadow also has a variety of melee weapons he can use, though they aren't very sturdy and will break after a few uses. A particular weapon of note is his Samurai Blade, which has the ability to fire beams of energy from it.

    Makoto: Sounds familiar...

    Raiden: The Satellite Gun fires massive lasers from the sky... y'know, from the satellite, and the Shadow Rifle can kill normal foes in one shot and fires projectiles not unlike the Chaos Spear, a technique of his. Speaking of Chaos...

    Makoto: Okay, now we're talking!



    Chaos Powers:
    -Accessed by tapping into the Chaos Force.
    -Becomes more powerful the more Chaos Emeralds he has.
    -Physical contact with an Emerald is not required to use Chaos Powers.
    -Mixes Chaos powers into his fighting style.

        -Can teleport other people and objects in his general vicinity.

    -Chaos Boost: A state in which his Chaos Powers are enhanced significantly.
        -Chaos Lance: An explosive, more powerful Chaos Spear.
        -Chaos Blast: A massive, highly destructive explosion.

    Techniques:
    Spin Attack: Curls up into a ball strong enough to bust metal.
    Homing Attack: A Spin Attack that homes in on enemies.
    Spin Dash: Builds up speed before instantly boosting forward into a super fast Spin Attack.
    Light Speed Dash: Instantly flies at light speed along a trail of rings.
    Light Speed Attack: Activates the Light Speed Dash to attack multiple enemies in rapid succession.
    Spin Kick: A spinning kick along the ground.
    Black Tornado: Forms a tornado around enemies.
    Sonic Boost: Envelopes Shadow in an orange aura, increasing his speed and damaging enemies as he runs.
        -Can fly some distances in midair.



    Raiden: In the Sonic Universe exists something called the Chaos Force, an embodiment of the all-encompassing energy source called Chaos energy. While most Mobians require tapping into a Chaos Emerald or the Master Emerald to use this power, Shadow possesses a special direct link to the Chaos Force, and is held back by no such restriction. Though in all fairness, his abilities are far more potent with an Emerald. He has been shown to use Chaos Control far more efficiently than many other characters in the series.

    Makoto: He can slow time down to a crawl or even a complete stop, instantly teleport short or long distances, and even heal himself... somehow. I guess he distorts the space on his wounds... or something... Speaking of, he can distort space around him or in centralized areas like his fists or midair.

    Raiden: He can even create pockets of distorted space and throw them as a sort of mine, and rather famously he can fire Chaos Spear, a concussive or destructive energy projectile. And should more firepower be required, he can enhance the strength of his Chaos power with Chaos Boost. Like this he gains more destructive power and can fire and explosive Chaos Spear called Chaos Lance.

    Makoto: And a personal favorite of mine, and probably of a lot of people: Chaos Blast!
